Dock-It™Kit

The Dock-It™' Kit comprises the essentials you'll need to put the Dock-It™to work on your project. The Dock-It™ Kit core module is built upon proven sub-components. The rotary latching mechanism is based on the purpose-built system that was designed for the Velo Lumino TMAT stem cap dyno-light switch.

What you'll receive is the button mounted to a short length of alloy plate (below left) and the barrel (below right) which is mounted to a short length of spindle tube.

The complete kit includes (seen below):
  • Dock-It latch button, mounted on short aluminum strut with leather washer.
  • Dock-It rotary latch barrel, on 5/16” CrMo tube spindle.
  • Installation key-- The key into the notches of the barrel to hold it while you fit it to the bag-side mounting plate (it also makes a nifty keychain fob).
  • Assorted length M5 fasteners & washers for mounting button.
  • Nylon bushing for barrel/strut interface.
  • Black rubber cap for placing over the button if the bag will be carried off-bike.
  • Detailed instructions on how to deploy your Dock-It™kit. (A .pdf is available here.)

When you receive your Dock-It™ Kit the unit will be set up in the "Docked" position. Naturally you'll want to start turning the barrel to get a feel for how it works --and that's fine-- but you should know that until the length of tube coming out of the barrel is firmly fixed in place you'll have a hard time really experiencing the subtle and satisfying sensation of the docking mechanism at work.  The barrel operates on a 1/4 turn between 12:00 o'clock and 3:00 o'clock.
